MEET THE ARTIST

I’m Daniella the hands and creator of Odd Knots + Threads. I’m a Knitwear Designer, Indie Dyer and Progress Keeper Artist with a love for dark and moody aesthetics. Born in Peru and I currently reside in way too sunny Florida, where I spend my days longing for cooler temperatures and knitting thick sweaters in 90 degree weather.

My importance of slow fashion comes from a place of wanting to have something that isn’t in stores. I’m a very visual person, before I even make or design a pattern, I envision how I will style the finished product. This helps me pick yarn weight and colors. I tend to be attracted to designs that are unique, whether it’s the color work, silhouette, or texture. When I create something I strive to stand out, I love letting the design speak for itself.

As an Indie Dyer, I find how each skein is dyed differently beautiful. I love watching the colors I’ve created come to life in the pot, and then be revived again once the skeins are dry. For me, the possibilities for colors, shades and textures are endless.

Creating with my hands is something I’ve always done, so making handcrafted notions was natural for me. I seek to make one of a kind pieces; and when it comes to my pressed floral progress keepers, no two are alike. Made with 100% real natural flowers, I was the first to introduce notions like this into the fiber world.

The amount of time, quality and attention to detail that goes into everything is extremely important to me. I want people to be excited when they see the little black label that is Odd Knots + Threads, and I hope to make enough of an impact to keep them coming back for more!
